Julius Wasserstein (1924-1985)


Julius Wasserstein was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and moved to San Francisco in 1925. He attended the California School of Fine Arts (1950-53). From 1952-85 he served as the gallery superintendent at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.


Wasserstein continued his education at San Francisco State College (1955-58). He then taught at the San Francisco Art Institute from 1960-63. He received the San Francisco Art Association Nealie Sullivan Award in 1961.
